Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I join a Connect Group?

God designed us to grow in community. Connect Groups provide encouragement, accountability, friendship, prayer support, and opportunities to deepen your understanding of God's Word while building lasting relationships with fellow believers.

Is there childcare available?

Whenever possible, childcare is provided for Connect Group events. Information regarding childcare availability will be communicated through group messages and event announcements.

Where do Connect Groups meet?

That depends on the event. Some gatherings take place on campus, while others may be held at a member's home, a local restaurant, a bowling alley, or another off-site location. Event details are always shared ahead of time.

Do I have to be a member of ODBC to join?

No! Anyone is welcome to visit and participate in a Connect Group. We'd love to help you get connected, whether you're a longtime member or a first-time guest.

Do I have to attend every event?

Not at all. While we encourage participation, there is no requirement to attend every gathering. Join us whenever you're able!

Can I invite a friend?

Absolutely! Connect Groups are a great place to introduce friends, neighbors, and family members to our church community.

Is there a cost to participate?

Most of our groups and activities are free to attend; however, some special events may have a cost associated with them. Any fees will be communicated in advance so you can plan accordingly.

What are the age ranges for each group?

We offer groups and ministries for a variety of ages and stages of life:
Kids Ministry: Ages 4–12
Youth Ministry (CREW): Ages 13–18
Young Adults (The Upper Room): Ages 18–25
Women's Ministry (Proverbs 31 Collective): Ages 18–65
Men's Ministry (Man Made): Ages 18–65
Seniors Ministry: Ages 65+

Can I participate in both Young Adults and the Men's or Women's Ministry?

Absolutely! While The Upper Room is specifically designed for young adults ages 18–25, we encourage you to participate in our Men's or Women's Ministry as well. These ministries provide additional opportunities for fellowship, discipleship, service, and building relationships with believers from different generations within our church family.
