Discouragement is a reality that affects everyone, including Christians. Life brings hardships and difficult circumstances, and in a world that often feels dark and hopeless, it can be easy for discouragement to take root.

This is where we find Jeremiah, the “Weeping Prophet.” Jeremiah faithfully proclaimed a difficult message to a nation he loved as he watched them turn further from God. Yet through Jeremiah and the book of Lamentations, we find encouragement and hope for difficult times.

The truth for the believer is that God desires us to have faith and hope even in the midst of discouragement. As we examine Jeremiah’s struggles and responses, we will see how God calls us to face difficult times with faith and ultimately “weep no more.”
