A True Heart of Obedience

Obedience is one of the clearest indicators of a person's relationship with God. While many people claim to love God, true love for Him is demonstrated through submission to His commands. In 1 Samuel 15, King Saul was given a clear command from God concerning the Amalekites. Rather than obeying completely, Saul chose partial obedience, convincing himself that his actions were acceptable. Yet God rejected Saul's excuse and revealed a timeless truth: God desires obedience more than religious activity.
