Be Loving

The church at Ephesus was a remarkable church in many ways. They were doctrinally sound, spiritually discerning, hardworking, and faithful in the face of opposition. Yet despite all of these strengths, Jesus identified a serious problem: they had left their first love. Their service continued, their standards remained, and their ministries functioned, but their affection for Christ had grown cold. Through His message to the Ephesian church, Jesus reminds believers that love for Him is not merely one aspect of the Christian life—it is the foundation of it. God desires more than activity, knowledge, and service; He desires hearts that genuinely love Him.
