The Call of the Watchman

Throughout ancient times, a watchman stood upon the city walls with one primary responsibility: to watch for danger and warn the people. If an enemy approached, the watchman was expected to sound the alarm so the city could prepare. In Ezekiel 3:17, God called Ezekiel to be a spiritual watchman for Israel. His task was not to change people's hearts but to faithfully deliver God's warning. The same principle applies to believers today. While we cannot save anyone, God has entrusted us with the responsibility of proclaiming His truth and warning people of the consequences of rejecting Him.
