Behold I Knock!

One of the most well-known invitations in Scripture is found in Revelation 3:20: "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock." While this verse is often used in evangelism, its original context reveals that Jesus is speaking to the church at Laodicea—a church that had become lukewarm, self-sufficient, and spiritually indifferent. Though they had pushed Christ to the outside, He had not abandoned them. Instead, He stood at the door, knocking and inviting them into renewed fellowship. This passage is a powerful reminder that Christ desires a close relationship with His people and lovingly calls them to respond when their hearts have drifted away.
