Drawing Nearer: The Essence of Our Communion

Jan 5, 2025    Pastor Jeffrey Bateman

Communion is far more than a church ordinance or religious tradition. It is a reminder of the sacrifice of Christ and an invitation to draw near to God through Him. In Hebrews 10, the writer celebrates the incredible privilege believers have because of Jesus' death on the cross. What was once impossible under the Old Covenant has become possible through Christ's finished work. Because His blood has opened the way into God's presence, believers can approach Him with confidence, sincerity, and faith. Communion reminds us not only of what Christ has done, but of the relationship He has made available.
