Deadly Routines

The Christian life was never intended to become stagnant. Yet many believers find themselves trapped in routines that are comfortable but spiritually unproductive. In Deuteronomy 1, Moses reminds Israel that God had called them to move forward and possess the Promised Land. Instead of advancing by faith, they became stuck through fear, unbelief, and complacency. What should have been a brief journey became forty years of wandering. Their routines became deadly because they prevented them from experiencing God's best.

The same danger exists today. It is possible to become so comfortable with routine that we stop growing, stop trusting, and stop moving forward with God.
