A Good Soldier Of Jesus Christ

The Christian life is often described in Scripture using military imagery. Believers are engaged in a spiritual battle against the world, the flesh, and the devil. In his first letter to Timothy, Paul charges his young protégé to "war a good warfare" and remain faithful to the calling God had placed upon his life. While many begin the Christian life well, not all remain faithful to the end. Paul reminds Timothy that a good soldier of Jesus Christ is one who remains loyal to his Commander, holds firmly to the faith, and refuses to abandon the truth.
