The Unfinished Work of Christ

When Jesus cried, "It is finished" from the cross, the work of redemption was completed forever. The penalty for sin was paid in full, and nothing can be added to Christ's sacrifice. Yet while His work for us is finished, His work in us and for us in heaven continues. Hebrews 7 reveals that Jesus Christ is our eternal High Priest who continually intercedes for His people. He is not a Savior who merely saved us in the past; He is actively ministering on our behalf today. The unfinished work of Christ is His ongoing ministry of intercession, preservation, and sanctification.
