In August 2021, Pastor Jeffrey D. Bateman became the Senior Pastor of Open Door Baptist Church. His connection to the ministry began long before that, having faithfully served for six years as Assistant Pastor under Pastor Craig Griffith. Prior to coming to Open Door, Pastor Bateman served the Lord in pastoral ministry in three churches throughout New England and Newfoundland, Canada.

Pastor Bateman and his wife, Amy, have been blessed with five children and share a deep commitment to serving the Lord and His people. Together, they are passionate about ministering to families, encouraging believers, and helping the next generation come to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ. Whether teaching, visiting, hosting fellowship opportunities, or caring for members of the congregation, they find great joy in every aspect of ministry.

Pastor Bateman's desire is to see lives transformed through the faithful teaching and practical application of God's Word. Through biblical preaching and discipleship, he seeks to equip believers to grow in their faith and live out the truths of Scripture each day.

The Bateman family is grateful for God's leading and considers it a privilege to serve at Open Door Baptist Church. They are honored to continue the legacy established by Dr. Robert E. Mayer and Pastor Craig Griffith while looking forward to all that God has in store for the future.
