The Core Values of Discipleship: Love

What does it really mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ? Throughout this study, we have looked at several core values of discipleship, including honesty, obedience, and wisdom. Today, we come to another essential value: love.

Love is at the very heart of the Christian life. Jesus taught that we are first to love God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind, and then to love our neighbor as ourselves. This kind of love is not merely an emotion or a feeling. It is a deliberate choice to put God first and to show His love to the people around us.
