There Is A Generation
Feb 2, 2024 • Pastor Jeffrey Bateman
In Proverbs 30, Agur describes a troubling pattern that can be found in every age: a generation that rejects authority, elevates itself, ignores its need for God, and mistreats others. Four times he repeats the phrase, "There is a generation..." Each description reveals attitudes that lead people away from wisdom and toward destruction. While these verses serve as a warning, they also challenge God's people to live differently. Rather than reflecting the spirit of the age, believers are called to reflect the character of Christ.
This passage reminds us that every generation must choose whether it will follow the wisdom of God or the values of the world.
